I Love to See the Temple

Today we went with our ward on a family Temple trip to the Winter Quarters, Nebraska Temple. This was neat for us because we were able to take Molly, and babysitting was provided while we did our session. Then we were able to go to the Visitor's Center. We left the house at 6:30 this morning, got to the temple around 9:30, dropped Molly off at the park where the kids were being watched, started our session at 10, ate lunch around 12, did some pictures and visiting, went through the Visitor's Center, headed home around 1:30, and got home around 4. We are all completely exhausted. But it was a wonderful experience. I love the fact that Molly was able to visit the Temple with us. She was so excited about it, then was really disappointed when she couldn't go inside.
After lunch, we took some pictures as a ward. Then the kids gathered together and sang I Love to See the Temple. It was so sweet.
Then the primary president had the kids go up to the Temple and actually touch it and explained to them how the Temple is special and a sacred place.

Molly is becoming quite the photographer, and it's actually getting pretty useful. She was able to take this picture of David and me at the doors to the temple.
Another picture by Molly...some of the flowers on the Temple grounds. So pretty.
The Winter Quarters visitor center has a really neat display right now called Reflections of Christ by a photographer named Mark Mabry. The pictures were amazing. Here are just one that I especially loved. I felt a little guilty taking pictures of the pictures, so I only did the one.
And of course we had to get one family picture in before we left.
