The Halloween that Never Ends

For being not one of my favorite holidays, Halloween certainly seems to last forever around here.  I'm grateful Molly loves it so much, it makes it that much more fun for me.  After some more Halloween fun tonight, we can start looking forward to Thanksgiving and the new baby, depending on which comes first. (Fingers crossed it will be baby.)

A few days ago we found a cute little Haunted House making kit.  Something my family does around Christmas is get the gingerbread house kits, and we've had lots of fun with those, so we thought this would be a fun activity for us to do as a family.  Molly thought it was great.  She was really creative, and did a great job in selecting where to put the candy...I really just helped with the frosting.
Having fun...with a silly little smile.  Can't get this girl to look at the camera with a natural smile.

Waiting patiently to place the candy.

The finished project.  What a masterpiece!

Last night we hit our neighborhood for the most important thing...candy!  Iowa is interesting in the fact that we do our trick-or-treating on "Beggar's night", or the night before Halloween.  Since we live pretty close to Iowa State, and they have a football game tonight, Ames changed the trick-or-treating to Friday.  This actually works out really great for us, because now we're going down to my parents house tonight to hit their neighborhood for some more trick-or-treating.  Can we just say sugar high?  Anyway, last night we met up with friends and let the kids go wild.
Pretty little princess, all ready to go.
What an adorable group.  Molly, Sidney and Isaac.

Molly is so excited to be able to go trick-or-treating again tonight, along with carving some pumpkins.  Then we'll have the candy to remind us of the fun.  I think after tonight my body will be ready to be done with Halloween for another year.
